Jhila Farzaneh is a documentary artist based between New York and Dubai, creating and curating mindful and meaningful space and time for inner and outer connection, transformation, and expansion through photography, sound and silence.

She is a graduate of the Documentary Practice and Visual Storytelling program at The International Center of Photography in New York, and the Psychological & Brain Sciences program of the Columbian College at The George Washington University.

As a Persian New Yorker raised between London, Dubai, Singapore and Geneva, much of Jhila's work explores the associated ideas of identity, landscape, memory, and the concept of home, drawing from ancient Persian cosmogony, mythology and mysticism. Her third culture global upbringing, coupled with her background in anti-oppressive counseling and liberation psychology, inform greatly her deep seated interest in the human condition, the nature of reality, and the harmonious interconnectedness of all.

Currently, Jhila is pursuing studies in sound therapy and metaphysics. Her photographic, visual studies have guided her toward a sonic realm filled with playful curiosity and spirals of awe – here, home – where everything is music. As an intuitive sound meditation practitioner certified in integrative somatic trauma therapy, she invites you to slow down, surrender, and meet your self here, too.
